Ultrasonic Bar Inspection Process

Step 1

Loading

Auxiliary loading of the inspected bar onto the loading table.

Step 2

Turning

Turning of the bar material onto the loading roller conveyor by means of a turning mechanism.

Step 3

Transports

The loading roller conveyor transports the bars to the inspection area.

Step 4

Detection

The bars are automatically detected in the inspection area and automatically recorded.

Step 5

Defective Labeling

Bars pass through the inspection area for air drying and marking of defects.

Step 6

Unloading

The unloading roller conveyor transports the workpieces to the unloading table.

Step 7

Testing completed

The unloading device sorts the test bars for pass/fail until the test is complete.

Nondestructive testing is a method of inspecting and testing the structure, properties, state, and defect type, quantity, shape, location, and size of the internal and surface of the test piece by physical or chemical means, with the help of modern technology and equipment, without damaging or affecting the performance of the tested object or the internal organization of the tested object.

Utilizing the characteristics of ultrasonic waves, a transmitting probe is used to transmit ultrasonic waves to the surface of the inspected part through coupling, and when the ultrasonic waves propagate inside the inspected part and encounter different interfaces, they will produce different reflection signals (echoes). Using the time difference between the different reflection signals transmitted to the probe, defects inside the inspected part can be detected.

Water immersion flaw detection is a method of ultrasonic testing characterized by the use of water as a coupling agent between the workpiece and the probe. The probe is not in direct contact with the workpiece, and ultrasonic waves are introduced into the workpiece through the water for flaw detection.

Detection of defects including surface, internal, organization, etc.
(1) Internal defects include cracks, inclusions, shrinkage, pores, unwelded holes, etc;
(2) Surface cracks, folds, scratches, pits, etc.
(3) Structural defects including unqualified weld size, biting edge, burn through, unfused, etc;
(4) Material defects including coarse grain, excessive impurities, unqualified mechanical properties, etc.

Usually use the plane meander sweep and spiral sweep two ways.
(1) Meander sweep generally refers to the same plane, the probe and the workpiece to form a straight line back and forth sweep to the completion of the test, the general detection of the type of workpiece for the plate.
(2) Spiral sweep refers to the probe and the workpiece to form a relative spiral detection of the way, that is, the probe rotates the workpiece straight-line
